What Employers Need to Know About Health Care Reform

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (February 19, 2013)—The Beacon Group is teaming up with SorinRand to host a seminar designed to prepare employers for the upcoming impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). This exclusive afternoon seminar, set for Thursday February 28 at 3:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge, will provide attendees with expert perspectives and advice that will paint a clear picture of how health care reform will impact insurers and employers nationwide.

The program will feature employee benefits and health insurance professional Anthony D. Cellucci, Jr., Managing Partner at The Beacon Group of Companies along with executive compensation, ERISA and employee benefits Attorney Sarah Ivy of SorinRand. With 20 years of employee benefits and insurance consulting experience, Cellucci will inform employers as to their responsibilities and penalty provisions of PPACA. “Healthcare reform legislation comes with a slew of new employer responsibilities and potential fees for noncompliance.  Very simply, we want companies to learn what PPACA requires they do, how and when it needs to be done, and the cost of noncompliance,” said Cellucci.

Ivy brings her thorough knowledge of the PPACA as she plans to lay out the legal challenges and opportunities emerging from this law. “The Affordable Care Act is an extensive piece of legislation – likely the most extensive I’ve experienced in my practice – that will impact employers, individuals, insurers, and government agencies.  Our role is to assist our clients in complying with the Act’s provisions already in effect, and in planning for the ‘pay or play’ penalty provisions that are effective in 2014. Up until November’s election, many employers adopted a ‘wait and see’ approach to the Act’s provisions. However, with the election over, and relatively no hope for a repeal, those employers with approximately 50 or more full-time employees must begin preparing for the 2014 penalty provisions, which will undoubtedly affect an employer’s bottom line,” said Ivy.

The Beacon Group and SorinRand will close registration to this event after the first 100 attendees. The seminar is followed by a reception including an open bar for all attendees.
