According to a post in Cyber Security Intelligence, Israeli defense firms were hacked by a group linked to North Korea, using fake job offers to try to obtain sensitive data. The hackers created fake LinkedIn accounts impersonating CEOs and major defense companies. The attackers reportedly penetrated computer systems and stole classified data which could have been shared with Iran.
Although this was a case of espionage, this tactic could be used by hackers trying to get personal information or access to organizations. They could use phishing emails or post to LinkedIn groups posing as recruiters.
Research any job offers to be sure the recruiters are legitimate, and job postings are on a company's website.
